Paper VII — PROTECTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN INDIA
Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks
Answer any FIVE questions.
All questions carry equal marks.
1. Explain the history and development of Human Rights in the Indian Constitution.
2. Explain constitutional philosophy that promotes Human Rights in India.
3. Discuss the enforcement of equality and liberty under Indian constitution.
4. Give an account of enforcement of social, economic and cultural rights through directive principles of state policy.
5. Explain development of Human Rights Jurisprudence through judicial activism.
6. Discuss the role of National and state Human Rights commissions in protection and promotion of Human Rights in India.
7. Discuss the role of NGO’s in protection and enforcement of Human Rights in India.
8. Explain the impact of various International charters, covenants, norms and standards on India in implementing Human Rights.
9. How the rights to life is protected in India? National security and individual liberty are the two yardsticks in measuring the status of Human Rights in any country. Comment.
10. Write explanatory notes on any THREE of the following :
(a) Distributional equality for social justice.
(b) Status of III generation human rights in India.
(c) Human capabilities and Human Rights.
(d) Right against torture.
