Paper VI — CRIMINAL PROCEDURE CODE
Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks
Answer any FIVE questions.
All questions carry equal marks.
1. Describe the salient features of the code of Criminal Procedure Code and critically evaluate the recent reforms brought in Criminal Procedure Code.
2. Examine the difference between summons procedure and warrant procedure. Can a
court convert a summons case into a warrant case? If so give circumstances in which the court does so?
3. What do you mean by "arrest" and when the arrest of a person can be made with and without warrant and also mention the various rights available to arrested person.
4. Define 'bail' and distinguish between bailable and non-bailable offences.
5. Examine the procedure to be followed by police officer, if the investigation is not completed within the time.
6. What is Fair Trial? Enumerate the various stages in a trial before a court of session.
7. Explain the powers of the appellate court in disposing of an appeal against the order of acquittal.
8. State the essential of a 'complaint' and compare it with first 'Information Report'.
9. Who are the persons entitled to maintenance under the code of Criminal Procedure?
Discuss the procedures for alteration of allowances and enforcement of order of
maintenance.
10. Write any TWO of the following
(a) Anticipatory Bail (b) Speedy Trial
(c) Search and Seizure (d) Police diary.
